De AE100 is ontworpen met het oog op het bereiken van hoge geluidsdrukniveaus vanuit een extreem kleine behuizing. Dit wordt voornamelijk bereikt door het gebruik van een 110 mm mid-bass drive-unit die is gebouwd rond een ultra-krachtig motorsysteem met lange worp. De basprestaties worden versterkt door een sleufvormig kanaal dat een aanzienlijk dwarsdoorsnedegebied mogelijk maakt, terwijl de problemen van luchtturbulentie teniet worden gedaan.
